The Wall Street Journal published on Friday a report stating that Google secretly tracked the online moves of Apple's Safari users by exploiting a loophole in the browser's privacy settings.
The report also says that Google stopped the practice after being contacted by WSJ.
Google replies saying that: "The Journal mischaracterizes what happened and why. We used known Safari functionality to provide features that signed-in Google users had enabled. It's important to stress that these advertising cookies do not collect personal information."
