Google's New Privacy Policy

Google's privacy policy is set to take effect on the first of March. Many people are raising their eyebrows, from US consumer watchdogs all the way to the EU regulators.

The gist? Under the banner of simplification, Google is going to consolidate more than 60 product specific policies into one - and merging your digital trail from all these products to analyze and generate assumptions about you.

Imagine - google search, docs, calendar, you tube, and your location through goggle maps - just to name a few.

Still not convinced about the possibilities/repercussions?

Excerpt from article:
You’re on the way to a meeting. Traffic seems to be slowing. A text comes in: “You’re going to be late. Take the next exit for alternate route.” It’s from Google.

This is not Google’s version of Siri. It’s a result of the company’s push to use data it collects from you in novel ways that could be helpful, or unsettling.
